Flexibility and Dance

Split

October 9, 2016Leave a commentBy MarthyFit

Those who already have a good leg extension can improve it further in different ways. Here you can see some examples:

  • in split position, lean forward with your trunk towards your front leg, until the pain tolerance level, and keep the position for at least 30 seconds. Once you feel no pain anymore, lean further, making sure your trunk is in the correct position. Be aware of keeping your shoulders back and your back straight.
  • place your front foot on the first step of a ladder or on another step to increase your leg opening. Once you touch the ground and your’re not feeling any pain, you can either place your front foot on a higher step, or lift also the back foot.
  • standing, grab your right foot with your right hand, then straighten both legs completely. You can now push your hips backwards and forwards while forcing your right leg opening on different angles. This exercise will significantly contribute to increasing your leg opening.
